Description
Triund trek is one of the easiest and most stunning treks in Himachal Pradesh. The trek starts from McLeodganj near Dharamshala, which is said to be the place where Dalai Lama stayed in exile when he came from Tibet to India.
Itinerary for Triund Trek:
Day 01: Bhagsunag to Triund (9 km | 5 hrs. | 2874m)
Reach on your own and embark the Triund trek from the village of Bhagsunag, near the hill town of McLeodganj. The path leads above the villages then it starts climbing. Hike uphill through pristine forests of deodar trees, and see the mighty and almost-vertical mountains of the Dhauladhar Range and Kangra Valley. Keep walking through forests of oak and rhododendron bushes on a ridge that is perpendicular to Triund – another ridge. Pass the latter landform and reach a grassy meadow to set up camps for an overnight stay.
Day 02: Triund to Bhagsu Nag (14 km | 4-5 Hrs|2,168 m)
Wake up to a mesmerizing sunrise with clouds touching your face. After breakfast, we will start descending towards Bhagsu Nag. Reach by afternoon and you can catch an evening bus back to your home or stay overnight on your own.
